What Board To Choose

Buying a board can be as simple as picking one of the shelf, but to get good value for money there are a number of factors to take into account. The first thing is if you want to ride flatland or waves. If you want to ride flatland than you will need a wooden board or a fiberglass board. For wave riding you will need a fiberglass board.

Wood Boards
There are many different brands of wood boards ranging from you dollar store to a handcrafted professionally made board. Wood boards are made out of plywood and the more layers the stronger they are but this results in weight. You will want to find a balance  between strength and weight. Some manufacturers such as Nemo provide a superglide polymer base which increases the gliding distance by 300%. Lighter boards are better for air tricks such as ollies but they don't usually glide as far as heavier boards do which are better for spins and fire hydrants etc.
